Eco-Schools Award
We are very excited that our school has been given the Eco-Schools Award! This means that everyone has been working hard to look after God's world by recyling, saving energy, and caring for nature. In our faith, Catholic Social Teaching reminds us that we are called to be stewards of creation. By working together, we are helping to make the world a cleaner, kinder and more hopeful place. Here is our feedback from the award:
Our Eco-Council
Our Eco-Council worked hard to help us achieve this award. They put together a action plan that focused on biodiversity, energy, transport and litter. The Eco-Council delivered whole school assemblies on the importance of saving energy and asked every class to appoint an energy saving monitor, and they also led the whole school in Walk to School week delivering and assembly and class based advice on how to do this and the benefits for God's creation.
The Eco-council held regular litter picks and invited familes of St. Anne's to take litter pickers home at the weekend to clean-up their local area.
