Eco Council
At St Anne’s, we are always seeking new ways to care for the environment as part of our responsibility to protect God’s creation. Guided by the principles of Catholic Social Teaching, especially Stewardship of Creation, we teach our children to value and respect the world around them.
Our dedicated Eco Council leads by example, and all pupils play an active role in caring for our common home—by composting, recycling, saving energy, and choosing sustainable travel, such as walking to school.
At our school, we are committed to protecting the environment and making our school and local community a better place to live. Together, we promise to:
-
Recycle responsibly – Always put rubbish in the correct bin and avoid wasting paper.
-
Save water – Don’t waste water or overfill water bottles.
-
Use less electricity – Turn off lights, screens, and other devices when they’re not being used.
-
Travel sustainably – Walk, scoot, or cycle to school whenever you can.
-
Live healthily – Eat nutritious food and stay active every day.
-
Care for nature – Stay on the paths, don’t pick flowers, or damage plants and trees.
-
Respect all living things – Be gentle and kind to animals, insects, and each other.
-
Look after our things – Treat school equipment carefully, don’t break or chew items like pencils.
-
Be kind and respectful – Show friendship, politeness, and care to everyone.
-
Protect our environment – Follow our school charters and take pride in keeping our surroundings clean and green.
Together, we can make a difference!
