Daily Update - Wednesday 18th March

Dear Parents,

We will now be posting daily updates regarding Coronavirus and its impact on the school. We fully understand how concerned many parents are in the present climate and as a school, want to reassure you that your child’s health and safety is our top priority.

We continue to work closely with our Executive Principal and Governors to make sure we are taking an informed and balance approach to this situation.

The school remains open. We are again stressing to all staff and children the importance of hand washing for the safety of all.  We are increasing our social distancing measures for staff, parents and pupils.

What this means for our school is:

For Pupils - We have cancelled assemblies and hymn practices. Classes may merge and they may have different adults in class.  Timetables may be subject to change to meet the needs of the school.  As of tomorrow, starting with Culture Club, all teacher run clubs will cease.

For Staff - We have cancelled all external training and staff meetings.  All non-essential face-to-face meetings will be postponed.

For Parents - We would advise all parent helpers not to come in.  Gates will open slightly later at 8.35am where teachers will be on the playground supervising the children, eliminating the need for parents’ to hang around encouraging social distancing.  We ask that you are also mindful of social distancing when picking your child up at the end of the day.

Following on from the above we have regrettably cancelled the Rocksteady Concert, Parents’ evening and Stations of the Cross.

For families that are self-isolating, please see the “What to do“ sub-page from the main “Coronavirus” page which can be found under the “useful information” tab.

These are very challenging times and I would like to thank Mr Thompson and his team for the additional measures in place such as regularly cleaning door handles etc.

We have a large number of parents who work in the NHS and we would ask you all to remember them at this time.

Thank you for your  support and understanding and we ask you to join us in continuing to pray for God’s guidance and strength during this difficult time.

Mrs Sadie and SLT
